The morning newscasters told me to make it a good morning. I wasn't sure how to do that, so I added hazelnut syrup to my milk. Definitely a step in the right direction.

What will you do today to make today a good one?

This week has been very stressful for me. Yesterday was an especially bad day. I even broke down in tears from the pressure for a few minutes, friends quickly cheered me up with talk of Star Trek. It made me so happy that they knew exactly how to turn my cloudy day into a cheery moment. The end of the semester is crazy enough, but I have the biggest set of exams of my graduate school career coming up just after I turn in my last final. I'm stressed. So there's a definite need in my life right now to keep positive and motivated. There are little things I can do to make sure that happens. I'm sure there are little things that you do, too. That's my motivation for starting this thread: to figure out what makes people happy in general, and to figure out what little tricks people play on themselves to keep going.

I'm making myself coffee and a good breakfast, and I'm dressed up for class since we have a speaker coming in today. I like professional dress!

I called into work. I debated about it. I've had a headache since yesterday afternoon, and wondered if I should just suck it up and go in, or if I should call. Something my supervisor said yesterday was in my head: "If you're here, and you're miserable, you're making the kids miserable without realizing it." So I called. If I'd had to drudge through the morning and be with the kids this afternoon, still headachey, that would have been truly awful. This way, I get to sit and take some meds, have some coffee, and relax.

    I feel better already.

To keep it better, I will probably write a bit.

Depends on if it's a workday or not.
Weekends are sleeping late...a good hearty breakfast, and my own coffee ground fresh in my kitchen. (Sunday's watching the Morning shows)

Weekdays: browsing the news on the web with a cup of java...and one more, then a breakfast sandwich, a nice hot shower & shave, walk the dogs...

I was hired back by my old company as a consultant. In other words, I get to make my own hours. If I feel like sleeping in a bit, I can, and do. If I get up early and want to linger at the computer with another cup of coffee, I can, and do.

I've never had so many good mornings. Of course, the best mornings are those when I open my eyes and see my love sleeping next to me. Those haven't occurred often enough, though the whole long distance romance thing is soon coming to an end, finally.

I'm going to make today (Sunday) great by going grocery shopping and getting my watch battery replaced.

I was lazy all day today. As much as I'd like to be lazy all day tomorrow, I know my tapeworm will be happier once my fridge is better stocked than it is now.

I find that my day is better when I can find some private time for myself. It could be a quiet, meditative period, or time spent reading a good book. I usually have coming to me for help all day long (at work and at home), so I find private time to be very restorative.
