Okay so they didn't have 100% great games but I can't think of any studio that did.

Did you have a favorite from them?

I loved Dark Forces, Jedi Academy, Finest Hour, Xwing/Tie Fighter. I'm sure there are many I forgot of...

I was trying to remember why the logo looked familiar, because I didn't play any of the Star Wars games. Then I realized: Zombies Ate My Neighbors.

    Man, I loved that game.

Interesting. Is this because Disney is going to use their existing game production for future Star Wars titles? EDIT: Never mind. I notice the article states it's going to a licensing model.

I got a kick out of a few of the Monkey Island games in addition to Battlefront, Knights of the Old Republic, and The Old Republic.

I'm sure I've played a few other games as well. I probably didn't appreciate them as much as I should have.

EDIT: From what I garnered from the article, this isn't the end of Star Wars games. Just the end of in-house games.

Zweiblumen is ahead of the curve since he's Full Throttle these days.

My first gut reaction on reading the headline was anger, but now that I've taken a minute to reflect, I've realized that this doesn't really impact me. Lucasarts has been a Star Wars tie-in factory for the last decade, and with the exception of Knights of the Old Republic I can honestly say that none of it really captured my attention. They had a lot of great stuff in the nineties, but they left it all to rot. I'm not sure if Schaeffer leaving had anything to do with it; the timeline seems to match up.

Anyway, I don't see it as that terrible. As far as I'm concerned the life went out of Lucasarts a long time ago.

I just want Grim Fandango. Give me that some how and I'll be a happy camper.

i loved grim fandango; one of my favorite games ever. besides that i'm very disappointed that the boba fett game and new battlefront game they were working on are both in limbo now.

Don't really play video games. So I can't comment on the content, but I do know there are a few folks here in Singapore who are now without a job. Hopefully Ubisoft (which has offices upstairs from me) hires them.

Unfortunate news, but I haven't played a LucasArts game in 15 years so I wonder if they were working on a new game?

As long as they keep the Lego games coming from the SW franchise, my family will be happy enough.
