Just picked up tickets to go see Jerry Seinfeld. Anyone fans of standup?

We've seen him twice before, both times relatively soon after his show ended. We got pretty good seats too (12th row) because I just happened to be online when they opened up sales on the previously unannounced second show.

As I said, I've seen him a couple times before. I've also seen Bill Cosby, Sinbad, Mike Birbiglia, Jon Reep, and a few other lesser known comics in person. I really wish I'd have had the opportunity to see Mitch Hedberg before he OD'd.

Who have you seen? Who are you a fan of?

We used to go to Comedy Central tapings all the time. They are fun and usually free, get to see 5 shows being taped and you're able to get about 15 comedians in sometimes.

We saw Seinfeld the last time he performed at the Beacon in NYC.

Mike Birbiglia, love the guy. Patrice O'Neal, Bill Burr, Dhat Phan are all good ones. We've seen Jeff Dunham many times. We don't go to comedy clubs as often any more, too expensive with the cover plus 2 drink minimum making it like $75. I miss the cheap comedy clubs....

Seen a few good standups out here, but don't recall names. None were big ticket "A" listers. Sadly all the ones I would really like to see are dead. Bill, Sam, and Richard.

I've not seen any live, but I am a fan of Eddie Izzard, and have a lot of time for any of them who can become a three dimensional embodiment of what they are describing.

Of standup, yes. Of Jerry, a definite no.

    I loved Mitch Hedberg.... :(

I'm also a big fan of Sabrina Matthews and Maria Bamford. I saw Lisa Lampanelli in Dayton, and she was all right.

I don't get Seinfeld. His jokes just show how painfully boring most people are: he gets paid to point out the obvious and is a multi-millionaire.

I've seen our Lord and Savior Eddie Izzard at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington D.C. and he is, by far, the best funny man in the business. His jokes are nested in side of each other. I got turned onto him by my exwife who would constantly work his jokes into everyday conversation.

When I lived in Columbia, SC I used to go to a local stand-up place called, no shit, the Comedy House. Inexpensive and great seating arrangement.

I really dig stand-up comedy. I was thoroughly amused when I went to visit Lordeden and he did his little routine in Raleigh. He's got guts.

I've seen Louis CK, Lewis Black, and Aisha Tyler live.

Bill Burr is one of my favs, and Eddie Izzard is good too.

    also like:
    Todd Barry
    Maria Bamford
    Steven Wright
    Patton Oswalt
    Dave Atell

Not really any comedy clubs nearby, but our local theater has started monthly comedy shows, except its been mostly comic/musicians, which IMO, gets old really fast.

I love stand up. Some of the best podcasts out there feature them.

Doug Stanhope is my favourite and I've seen him live a couple of times. I've also seen Marc Maron, Eddie Izzard and Joe Rogan live. I'd love to see Louis C.K. too. He's my other favourite.

I don't get Jeff Dunham's appeal. He's been doing the same schtick for years now. How many times can you get a laugh for saying "On a steek"?

He did a show in Pullman of all places and from what I hear (this was from my mother-in-law who saw the show) he got upset when people in the audience knew every single joke he did before he did them.
I would love to have been able to watch Edgar Bergen in his prime, or even at the end of his life for that matter. He died in at the start of his farewell tour in Vegas that was ending in his official retirement.

For regular standup comics I like Bob Hope's routines. Sharp writing, crisp delivery. I would say the same for Rodney Dangerfield as well.

I saw George Carlin way back, that was hysterical

I just don't get Jeff Dunham.... how the hell did that guy get his own show?

Dane Cook ... ok, we get it, you're loud and occasionally pick up a Thesaurus.... STFU.

I would love to see Eddie Izzard. George Carlin woulda been awesome too.

I'm sure Seinfeld would be a really fun show.

I've never seen a comedian at a stadium type setting - just at comedy clubs.

I've been to see quite a few comics. One of the local bars used to have a weekly comedy night. It wasn't big names but some of them were pretty good. I've been to the Improv to see Jim Breuer, Pauly Shore, and some others I cant think of right now. I also saw Steven Wright once. I see Ralphie May is coming at the end of the year. That may be my New Years plans right there.

We have tickets to see Jeff Dunham in Kingston on Oct 22nd. I occasionally go to our local comedy club. We don't get too many acts in our small town.

I've seen a few really enjoyable shows in the past couple of years:

    - Eddie Izzard
    - Daniel Tosh
    - Bill Maher
    - Craig Ferguson

I'm pretty sure I've substituted seeing comedians instead of going to concerts these days.

I've learned that big name movie doesn't always translate into funny standup. I saw Jay Mohr and while I like him in Suicide Kings, I wanted my money back after seeing him live.

Bobby Slayton was a smaller circuit guy I still remember seeing and its been 10 years. I love the feeling when the show actually incorporates audiences somehow, and you know only you and maybe 100 other people in the world have seen that particular show.

George Lopez is the warmup act for Santana at Red Rocks tomorrow night. Seems odd; but we'll see.

I've seen Bill Cosby a couple of times, great timing. Love the stand up of Craig Ferguson, funniest I have seen since Sam Kinison. The newer stuff isn't as funny as it was back in the 60's -early 90's. Bob Newhart, Carlin, Cosby, Martin, the Smothers Brothers, Johnny Winters, Robin Williams, etc.
