    Rest in Peace, Mr. Winters.

I never liked him so much in Mork and Mindy, but did love the Twilight Episode he was in.

That is a damn shame. He is one my all time favourite comedians and his use of voices and impressions was superb.

He'll be missed. He was one of those comedians that make you smile in anticipation upon just hearing their names.

    Rest in peace, Mr. Winters.

Hm. I had to look him up. I can't say I've seen him in anything. It's rare that someone like this never showed up on my radar. Either that, or I saw him in something a while back but forgot about it.

What would be the best way to sample his work?

you never watched Mork and Mindy?

  7. One of the best. Been out of sight for several years, though.

Robin Williams revered him. You can see similarities in their art.

    RIP Mr. Winters

Definitely one the the best ever. All of the good comedians of my day ripped off a lot of his work. Nobody did his schtick better.

Wow. Must be a generational thing.
I saw him mostly doing routines on various variety shows in the '60's & 70's. One of my most beloved comedians ever--and yes absolutely, without Winters, there would be no Williams.
Winters did struggle with mental illness and there were gaps in his performance years. He's been lying low for a long time.

I have been a fan since the early 1960s. I very much enjoyed his records.

A great loss for the entertainment world. He was Robin Williams before there was a Robin Williams. He'll always be one of my all-time favorite comedians.

This cracked me up at age 4 when I watched it live and it still does. Amazing.
It's not a highbrow humour but Winters is very nimble verbally and will go anywhere almost, to get a laugh.
    Watching him was a trip.

As a kid, he was one of my favourite comedians.

I loved seeing him on Carson. I can't say that I liked what he was doing on Mork and Mindy, but I respect why he was there and what Robin Williams did to get him there (I just wish it had been funnier).
