1. We've had very few donations over the year. I'm going to be short soon as some personal things are keeping me from putting up the money. If you have something small to contribute it's greatly appreciated. Please put your screen name as well so that I can give you credit. Click here: Donations

Halloween! Lets drink.

Discussion in 'General Discussions' started by YankeeStout, Oct 29, 2014.

  1. With Halloween just a few days away, do you have any plans? Do you celebrate? Do you not like the over commercialization of the holiday, maybe you think it's cute. DISCUSS Oh, by the way are you gonna dress up?

I'll be bouncing from party to party. Some of my boys wanna start early and troll about DC. I don't celebrate for any reason except for when I was younger, it was just a thing. I'll be a boat captain, was going to be a grammar nazi.

My timing has always been a little off when it's come to celebrating Halloween with parties. This year I've been invited to join in a neighborhood block party with some cycling friends, though the majority of the blocks' inhabitants are families with kids, so I assume drinking will likely be kept to a minimum while they're out trick-or-treating.

I may, however, end up babysitting an adult friend of mine who will be 24 hours out of knee repair surgery, confined to her house while her husband takes their kids out for candy. She'll be recuperating, I'll probably be drinking, though responsibly enough to insure that neither of us gets into trouble.

One friend is organizing a pub crawl for Halloween proper, and then another friend is hosting a house party on Saturday. I have two costumes for some variety (Linda Belcher from Bob's Burgers for one, Monica Lewinsky for the other).

I'm going to be exhausted on Sunday.

I used to trick or treat all night and/or hang out with friends while playing board games while we all dressed in costume. Those were fun times.

This year I'm sending the white rabbit costume I made for my daughter with her to school in the morning, showing up at 4:15pm for the parade of costumes, and will go home early to enjoy a relaxing Friday evening. We'll have a giant bowl of absurdly delicious candy to hand out to anyone who knocks on our door, but we received no visitors for the past 3 years...

    Nice, quiet evening.

    Love Halloween.
If I have the time, mind and money...I'll do it up.

Even if it's low-key, I enjoy handing out treats to the neighborhood kids. Seeing what they're wearing.
    I decorate for the holiday.

This year, I'm going to be a gentleman vampire.
When my ex & I went out, we took advantage of her makeup skills. (I'll have to do it myself this year, but I've done well enough)
