I love playing craps and was wondering if anyone had any strategies for both Pass and Don't Pass best that have worked out for them... I figure a $5 table so let's not get crazy. I want to have maximum game time without losing my ass....

I always look for the loudest table myself. That tends to be the hottest one.

I miss playing craps. I love that game.

Pass is the entry bet for a hot table.

Come is great for building bets on the hot table. Each number the comes up you put odds bets on each come number. Of a six is rolled as the come you bet odds and the put a chip on double 3. This goes for any even come bet.

Always bet odds. It's where they most money is made on the table.

Feel comfortable with maybe a couple hundred dollars in bets on the table.

A hot table with covering all of come numbers will be paying you out every throw of the dice.

What is good about this strategy is that it only builds up if the table is hot. The longer the dice are held the more come bets go up.

It always seems like the house rakes in the money and hardly anyone ever cashes out. Maybe I'm not watching it enough or watching the hot tables.

For craps, I always use the toilet in my hotel room. I don't like an audience.

Note to self: Never go to Vegas with Charlatan. What he thinks "poker" means is not what other people think poker means.

    ...

I'm actually lookin' at going to Vegas next year sometime. Current girlfriend loves it there and I've never been.

I think I'll stick to Blackjack, though.

Just don't pull a Lucas from Empire Records and let it ride when you shouldn't. You don't want your money to end up "recirculating."

If anything, you'd want to pull a Rusty from Vegas Vacation and play the slots instead. That way you can drive home in a Mustang.

Other than that...I've got nothing. Sorry.

    Have fun.

I'll just stand on the casino floor and fling a wad of money as hard as I can toward the nearest dealer and then go have a steak and a hooker. Maybe simultaneously. I don't not gamble, but I also don't see the fun of it. I play poker occasionally and rarely leave with less money than I started with, but never win big either. I lose interest in about 10 minutes or so.

gambling is how I pay for the steak and hookers, well at least for the strippers and lapdances....

Blackjack is where I go when I'm waiting for a hot craps table. I can at least hold my own money for a spell there so long as 1st and 2nd bases aren't total morons. Roulette is the other choice but that's usually just to do a quick double black/red bet on a streak.

I have no idea what you just said. And I've seen enough James Bond movies to know how deadly casinos can be.

Black Jack is my game. Never been any good at craps, seriously don't understand the game. Had a neighbor who seemed to always win. For years I thought he was just BS'ing. The number of people I've met over te years that go to Vegas or Reno and "always win" is amazing. I find the guys that practice for slot tournaments the most amusing. But he and I did a Halloween trip together one year and I swear he walked away each night with a few K in his pocket. I played BJ each night and basically broke even. Didn't even get lucky at the Halloween party. Just wasn't my trip.

One year my brother and I went to Reno and spent 27 hours straight in the same Black Jack pit. One dealer went home and came back for her next shift and said "oh, you guys back again?" "Back? We never left." I added it up when I got back to my room and I was up 74 bucks, about 2.75 an hour. But a lot of free cheap watered down bourbon. Real dive of a casino, Harold's Club, one to the few original casinos to survive into the 80's. Now it's a parking lot for Harrah's.
