1. We've had very few donations over the year. I'm going to be short soon as some personal things are keeping me from putting up the money. If you have something small to contribute it's greatly appreciated. Please put your screen name as well so that I can give you credit. Click here: Donations

Since I'm only 5' 1" I guess I'm glad to see this. Maybe means I can eat more bacon.;)

There are many things beneficial to being shorter...
You are more likely live longer
You don't have deal with the increased stress on your body as much as you age (joints, muscles, etc...gravity works)
You likely need less food, thus decreasing your costs (if desired)
The fashion industry is more focused to smaller people, there's often more in stock too

As a tall person, I get to add this to my list of potential disadvantages.
Not saying there are not advantages...but there are issues too.

    I'd say just enjoy.
Especially the bacon, which makes life worth it no matter your size ;)

One of my XBILs/still a friend stands maybe 5'6" on a good day, and weighs maybe 105 on a really good day. We toured the battleship USS Texas and the aircraft carrier USS Lexington. He had served in the merchant marines (a very wise decision as it turned out) and was able scramble around the cramped ships like it was nothing.

I remember touring the USS Texas years ago as a kid, before the state parks dept installed rails and stairs to made it more 'tour friendly.' A big guy (not many women on board during WW II) would have had a tough time moving around.

    5'2 here. Woop!

...I smoke, though, so that cancels out any benefit for me.

My XBIL/friend is a heavy smoker and has the worst eating habits (when he actually does eat) of anyone I know. When motivated, he is one of the most energetic people I've ever known.

But.....the same could be said of my recently deceased neighbor/sometime friend--short, a heavy smoker, and energetic. All indications are he died from lung cancer.

Odd fact: They are and were, respectively, tripods (and I don't mean sort of).
