Everytime a German buys porno books, the Church makes a profit.

    Personally I like when companies invest in their opposition like when Microsoft invested in Apple. In this case there is some other moral implications for one's soul, but hey, all's fair in business right? Keep on keeping on I say!

    Since we started here with porn and we eventually had to separate the boobies from the discussion, it doesn't mean that we turned into prudes. Quite the contrary as evidenced by all the NSFW threads we have. I'm even going to spend time rebuilding the tfpez.com​

    Do you think that they should divest their interest in the publishing company? Should they spin off the erotic sales to another company?

    To me it seems that "the Church" is not really a business based organization in spite of their wealth and business activities. So as to not compromise their moral standards, which are the foundation of their existence, they would have to divest themselves of involvement in activities that go against their teachings. Otherwise they're just sinking deeper into the mud. On the other hand, access to this would have saved me the trouble of finding all the sex in the Bible when I was a kid.

    Exactly. The church is not a business (at least, it's not supposed to be according to them). If they're serious about what they preach (an arguable point), then they have only two choices: end their connection to the publishing company or limit what gets published.

    I think it's only reasonable the Catholic Church find a profitable way to offset the pedophilia lawsuits. Heaven forbid they should dip into the basket offerings.

    When it gets hot and steamy, am I guessing there will not be condoms, seed spilt on unfertile ground? Is it going to be hetero porn, of will it be priests and choirboys. Thing is, only people who want it will buy it............ Unlike the The Church of Englands investing in arms - untill they were outed all over the telly box and papers. Which is worse, protected sex films or killing people for profit.
