DAKA DOING VERY NICELY, THANK YOU

    Do you "doodle" ?
Hmmm, how much of a ballpoint pen is used up in this...(wasted?) rather than "real" use

I don't doodle on paper. I tend to fiddle with pens and end up with a connect the dots patterns on clothes...the couch...table tops...

I believe there was a thread in the old TFP which asked people to post their doodles. Perhaps we should start that up again.

I doodle quite a bit. I use a mechanical drafting pencil. I used to have a pack of drawing pencils I carried around for doodling, but the mechanical pencil works well.

I used to doodle a lot during boring meetings (most meetings), and especially at industry seminars during the mandatory regional updates (anything of real importance I already knew). I'd end up with 3 sentences of notes and 2 pages of doodles.

I use a mechanical as well. A Pentel quicker-clicker, with the lead advance on the side. Ball points are messy. I hardly ever use one unless I'm signing checks or documents.

Mine is also a Pentel, but with an end clicker and a rubber grip. I'm super-picky about my mechanical pencils. One of the ways I knew my husband was meant for me is that his favorite mechanical pencil is my favorite mechanical pencil. I completely agree about the messiness factor. I'm left-handed and I prefer pencil because it doesn't smudge. However, I do like these pens, the Skilcraft U.S. Government Fine:

I got addicted to mechanical pencils in my engineering drafting class. Don't use ink at all, but I doodle all of the time. Any time I take notes I doodle. It seems to help me remember the things I am studying.

I tend to do tornados and eyes a lot...

I don't work art like I used to...but it is useful when I need it.

I estimate 95% of the ink in any pen I own ends up in doodles rather than something useful/productive.

  11. I have been known to doodle from time to time.
I have a bandolier of Pentel mechanical pencils
and a cigar box for the colors.

    Let's do! oodles!

  13. If I could post images in this forum I might have even started it already.
Alas, I am on the outside, looking in.

  14. I never doodle. I do, however, compulsively sign my name. I will fill an entire notepad with nothing but my signature repeated over and over. Please tell me I'm not the only one.

I mostly doodle the curves of the female body, but only a bit at a time, and I turn them into something else, something more abstract, fairly often.

  17. Thank you for the encouragement!
    I now have the POWER.
What kind of thread should I start that might encourage a little participation?
I like it when other contribute their doodles as well.
All styles and skill levels are welcome.

    A contest? A challenge? A weekly/monthly theme?
    Who's interested?

I do that sometimes because I'm not happy with my writing, and especially my signature.
It'd probably be ok if I were a doctor, but I have no excuse.
My cursive is just atrocious, and my printing is almost childlike.

As for actual doodles, it's not really pictures of things I doodle, just different shapes, sometimes geometric, and usually just consists of me drawing concentric circles (more or less outlining the object numerous times) around the object.

I'm interested in that thread, Giant Hamburger, Your Honor.

i used to doodle graffiti but now my "doodling" is me just taking notes on the unconscious habits of those who are in the same room as me so i can exploit them later. i know it's twisted but it's good mental/hand bubblegum
