Communists in the Fun House—Menstrual Musings (TMI alert for the guys)

Even if I try it with no one around, if I get a significant leak, I'm going to get blood on the fabric or rope. They're not cheap to replace or clean.

 

What does your cycle look like?


I used to be all over the place in terms of a schedule, then I went to a regular cycle of about six weeks, and for the past year or two i've noticed my body working on a typical 4 week cycle. Let's hope it doesn't shorten any further.

How do you manage your period?

I'm another one of those girls who've always wanted to go out and get a diva cup, but never have. It's used to be the fact that I didn't have an extra 50 bux to spare, but now perhaps i'm just lazy.

I use tampons and liners... a hot water bottle for the first day and A LOT of advil!

What other symptoms do you experience, and how do you manage them?

I get really frustrated for about 12 hours, a couple days before my period. That's pretty much the only time I really have to check myself, everything pisses me off. I can usually use my mood as an indication of when i'm going to start.

About 80% of the time I get really bad cramps on day 1,2 and 4. However I do occasionally get a really good period with only minor cramping. LOVE it when that happens.

I also get even more horny that I usually am when i'm on my period. HATE it when that happens.

If you're with someone, does your SO give you special treatment and/or avoid you during your sojourn in the Red Tent?

I have to say, for someone who also knows what it's like, she doesn't give out much special treatment

For the straight guys with SOsanyone with a female SO: Do you comfort/pamper and/or take special care of your lady, or do you prefer to keep a low profile in case of potential catastrophic mood swings and volatile emotional states?

It doesn't seem to have much of an effect on her emotional state but I know she goes through pain. I offer special treatment but the only thing she usually asks of me is to fetch the drugs.
