What are some things you make to clean out your fridge or freezer that take advantage of pantry staples?

I'm moving soon, and I'm trying to get rid of as much as possible, but I'm also looking for some inspiration.

Often, I'll make some kind of vegetable soup in order to clean out my pantry. My pantry is pretty spare at the moment, as I winnowed it down before we moved three months ago, and didn't restock a lot of stuff (usually I have several kinds of dried beans, grains, and other things that I just haven't replaced). I also often cook some kind of vegetable-lentil curry, as I typically have some kind of lentil on hand (I prefer red lentils that haven't been decorticated and Puy lentils), and thanks to an Indian friend, I have several kinds of curries.

There are going to be some interesting meals going on in this place soon!

    I call it "Anything Night".

No rules, no classic meal setup...simply eat what you will.
    Throw whatever together.

But these days, I don't usually have to worry about it...I make sure I go through all foods within a reasonable time.
Only things that spoil unexpectedly I don't use...and even then, I make sure that certain parts are usable or not.
    Waste not, want not.
