For our monthly 'Staff Tasting' at our local wine bar. I provide the food, the owner provides the wine. Win-win situation.

I would think you'd need something larger than a beer can for a turkey.

See the link in the first post. ;)

Or, you can use a 24oz can. Some beers are available in those.

It looks delicious. I've heard good things about doing this. Different results with different beverages.

However, I really only came in here to post a bit of trivia that I'm sure you folks will appreciate:

Do you know how to pronounce bacon in a Jamaican accent?

Say "beer can" slowly in a British accent.

Im not sure if this a Jamaican pronunciation of bacon, or it means something else?

But when I cooked my last Xmas Turkey I did wrap it in bacon and then a loose casing of silver foil, and it came out lovely and moist.

    It was a massive hit.

I'm not a big fan of turkey. I mainly did this out of variety's sake. The last several times I've done dinner for this group I've done first a beef tenderloin, second pulled pork and chicken thighs, and last time ribs. I wanted to add in something that wasn't red meat or pork. Even though turkey isn't my favorite, it turned out very good. Moist, tender, and crispy skin. Even though there were only 8 of us (and 5 were girls), there was basically no turkey left. Good times were had by all. ;)

That looks incredible! Did you brine or salt the turkey before cooking?

I ended up not brining it. But it was still very moist. :)
