This is a very entertaining blog written by Liz, an early 20's woman whose knowledge of music doesn't extend much past Glee and American Idol. So she decided to take on the 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die and give her thoughts on them day by day.

Pretty hilarious (and often thoughtful) write ups from someone who has somehow never been exposed to hundreds of classic albums

That looks interesting. I likely have never heard more than a few of the 1001 albums on that list.

very cool blog! this one got me to my feets.....

  4. I just read several of her reviews. Quite an interesting perspective, like comparing Spirit to Queen. She has little previous knowledge which makes for some interesting comments, some are quite insightful.

I really like the fresh eye she brings to music. It's fun to watch someone who professes to not be all that into music discover some really great music.

    Thanks, Derwood

I read through a few of her reviews and listened to a bit of those compilation tapes she's made. She's been bootstrapping herself and developing a language of appreciation. I'll come back to her work again.

I love how she describes some of the most depressing albums in rock history as "fun"

Lot of albums here that I've heard of, but never heard. Guess I've got some listening to do.

I bet the RIAA will be filing a lawsuit before long.

Unless she's actually purchasing nearly USD20,000 worth of music

There's always the option that she borrowed them from friends. Or the library.

Beg, borrow, or steal, that is truly a shit load 'o music. Many props to her effort so far. I hope she makes it through....

This looks like the list she's working from, although maybe not in the same order..
