Hell Kitten

A few years ago I was so afraid of firearms. My dad and my brothers used to target shoot in the field behind the house where we lived when I was a little girl, but I never joined in with them and certainly never dreamed I’d actually fire one. When I met my friend Trish I found that she was very into firearms and even has a carry permit. She introduced me to the wonderful world of firearms and pounded gun safety and handling into me, and then managed to get me in on target shooting with a Ruger MKII. She has other larger caliber hand guns but I like the MKII because it doesn’t kick like the others do. We also keep a 12 gauge shotgun around for home protection and whatever, but I absolutely hate firing that thing…it hurts my shoulder! I’ve never been anti-gun and until now I was never a big pro-gun activist like Trish is. We try to stay on top of what is going on with gun laws and fight anything that we feel is a threat to our second amendment, as I think everyone should.

I can't post links yet but check out the "Hell Kitten AR-15" it should be easy enough to google. I told Trish I wanted one for my birthday! LOL!

It's nice to see that there is a weapons section on this forum:thumbsup:

I had fired weapons and enjoyed them before I met Crompsin, but didn't own any. The first night I spent with him, he kept a pistol in my hotel room for protection. It was different, but not unnerving. His first visit to see me in Ohio, he taught me gun parts, mechanisms, and a whole lot of safety. Thanks to him I own two guns: a S&W 442 .38 revolver that I intend to take my concealed carry test with (after I get eye surgery) and a Walther P22. I also have quite a few "wants" when it comes to firearms but since funds are limited I try not to look at them too much. ;)

We have a shotgun for home defense, as well. Actually, we have three. And a few rifles and a handful of handguns. Unfortunately, there are a lot of gun regulations around here so we can't go shooting where we live, even though there are plenty of deer to be hunted.

Do you fire the shotguns very often? I know one thing, there is a really big difference when firing #8 shot compared to 00BK! I have fired a Walther P22 and I like it as well although I don't own one. Trish carries the S&W .38 most of the time but she has several others. She killed her first deer when she was 16 or 17 using a 243 rifle at about 200 yards (I think she said). I've never actually went deer hunting and she's always said It'd be a good experience for me, but I dunno...maybe I'll give it a try someday? She told me that its tradition that I rub my face in the guts of my first kill, LOL! She is joking...right?

SheDevil: They make Low Recoil Buckshot for those who don't manage recoil well.

Hunting is probably very different than you are thinking. Give it a try, but dress warm.
