Disable piracy protection protocols?
Is there any way to make it so Windows doesn't care about copy protection?
The reason I'm asking is because I just bought the new Beastie Boys cd, Solid Gold Hits, and when I put the cd into my computer, Windows Media player can't even run the damn thing. I need to use the provided flash program to run it. I've heard in the past that there's a file you can delete that pretty much tells Windows not to even look for licenses or anything like that and just play the media file. I'm not asking about this for any pirating reasons, I just want to be able to listen to the cd's that I bought on my own computer without installing some stupid program. Thanks! |
Well for one, turn off autoplay.
Yes it can be less convinient, but you don't realize how much crap really gets installed on ur pc through the cds you put in. |
You could also try AnyDvd. From the AnyDvd website:

Ah, the perfect example of why DRM is such a bad idea. It doesn't stop the people who want to rip the thing--it just stops people who want to legitimately use it.
Return the CD to the store saying it's defective. It is--it won't play. |
