Internet Printer

i want to set one up but need to find free software to do it.
any suggestions?

to explain my situation a little further:
computer A will be connecting to computer B with remote desktop. computer A will need to be able to print something from computer B and have the print come out at computer A.

i assume this can only be done by setting up a print server on computer A.

running what OS? Whatever OS you are using you should be able to do this via simple file print sharing.

printer is attached to computer A, share that printer. B should have that printer listed as a selection. Control B and press print. Print out should come out of printer which is connected to computer A.

both are windows 2000.
the problem is that these systems are not on the same network, hence the need to set up a print server.

I'd be interested in the same idea, folks.

I'm running a laptop with XP pro, and a desktop wth XP home.

I've tried everything (including getting my best mate who is a university IT network communications technician to look into it) to get my home network to allow printer and file sharing, and it can't be done for various reasons to do with firewalls and incompatable AV suites etc.

If there is a way that I can send documents to print on the fixed PC via the net I'd love to know it - righnow I have to send the files to the other PC if I made them here and remember to delete the "spare" version. If I could print by "the net" I'd find that helpful.

Can anyone tink of a way I can do this without needing extra hardware, or letting down the sheilds on either PC?

For the Xp machines...the easiest way is to buy a router ($20-40 usually) and hook them up through that. Most outside connections can't even see your computers through that.
