Updating Motherboard Drivers

Hey everyone I did a search on this and cant really find anything (even in google). I think I need to update my motherboard drivers and am not really sure what all needs to be done with that, I dont know if its as simple as updating normal drivers or if there is more to it. I have a Nvidia nForece 2 made by Gigabyte, the GA-7N400 Pro 2. For started where would I go to get the updates for this, and secondly what all needs to be done to update them?

Thanks in advance

Although I'm sure someone around here can give a very knowledgeable reply, I just did what you're describing last night, and this link was very helpful:

Hope this helps.

There's 2 version of GA-7N400 Pro 2, a V1 or V2

I got this from Giga-byte's website:

GA-7N400 V1.0
BIOS Update
Drivers

GA-7N400 V2.0
BIOS Update
Drivers

Hope this helps

One more thing, how do I check to see what drivers I currently have installed?

When you start your computer, hit the key to enter BIOS (Either Del, F8, F2, should tell you thou) and I'm not familar with Gigabyte's Mobo but it should tell you for sure what version of the BIOS is using somewhere on the screen.

In fact, it might even display the BIOS version when you boot your computer without having to enter the BIOS settings.

Like I said, I'm not familar with Gigabyte.

Thanks alot guys. And one more thing, for those drivers and BIOS there is version 1 and 2... no where does it say what vesion I have, should I just assume its version 1 then? Or do you figure both would work.

ps. Nice location, you must be a fellow Canadian.

I'm not sure actually, your motherboard should have come with some software that would give you those information.

Yeah, I am a fellow Canadian

Usually motherboards would have something printed directly on the motherboard telling which revision it is.
Best guess is that on the mobo itself if there is no revision (if it doesn't say which revision in the bios) listed that it would most likely be a rev 1, but definitely check the manual for the different revisions to find which one matches what you got.

Okay I fixed it. It turned out it was the Gigabyte drivers that were causing and the problems, I had to get some standard nForce 2 drivers that work with all the different models of motherboard, that cleared up every single problem I was having with the PC. Funny that the drivers you are supposed to use dont work and the universal drivers that are supposed to be more generic works better. Ah well, thanks for all the help guys.
