Does anyone have the new XM2go portal device? (XM Satellite Radio-related)

I was flipping through the pages of my Sports Weekly today and saw a huge ad for a new "XM2go" portable XM Radio device.

From what I gather, it's a portal radio (think Walkman) that gets all the stations XM Radio broadcasts.

This is pretty much what I've been waiting for, and I was curious if anyone has one of these yet? How is it? How much does it cost? Would you recommend it to others looking for a portable satellite radio solution, or do you recommend holding off until more similiar devices are released?

I emailed Sirius a few months ago about a device similiar to this, and they replied that such a device wasn't available at this time. But it seems XM has released such a device, and I'm strongly considering signing up with XM so that I can take advantage of this.

The fact that baseball season is starting up and XM carries games, also helps, greatly.

I'd really appreciate any and all feedback regarding this XM2go device. Personally, I'd rather have this than a iPod, providing it is "solid" and a worthwhile investment.

Thanks!

I'll be on the veranda, since you're on the cross.

I was looking at the sirius website the other day and found this: http://www.sirius.com/servlet/Conten...=1093551683484 I'm not sure about the specs, but it kinda looks like you could use it in a similar way to the XM2go. I could be horribly mistaken, but the price on the sirius one appeals to me a lot more than the xm2g0.

This unit is not a true portable like the XM2go unit, it still requires an external antenna and (from what I can tell) external power source.

Sirius was talking about their unit (still in development) to compete with the XM2go and Delphi MyFi unit on one of the Preview channels, however I'm having trouble finding any information about said unit on the interweb.

Before you take the plunge into a possibly expensive unit,
please read this review from a USA Today tech writer.

Reception was spottier out in the northern New Jersey suburbs where I live. I could get a signal in my family room, but only after connecting an external antenna and struggling to find an ideal spot by a window. Even then, the signal faded in and out. Reception proved even more challenging in my basement office.
If you don't spend much time outside, or work in a building that is not conducive to radio reception, this may not be the best option for you.

Alright, found some info... sorry for the long/multiple posts.

The Sirius ReGo, currently under development, has been kept under pretty tight wraps... a little bit of information can be found here:

Sirius Xact ReGo: interestingly, it plays back and records up to 4 hours’ worth of MP3 audio

RallyEX: Great info! Thanks for the links.

After checking the price of this device, it's too expensive right now. Ideally as more are released and they become older, the price will drop to a more reasonable range.

I actually think I would prefer a portable XM/Siruis portable radio over a MP3 player, but right now the satellite portable radio is a little too expensive for me.
