Diagnostic app to detect type of RAM?
I downloaded a program a while ago that scanned the internals of your computer (CPU, RAM, etc..) and reported back certain information.
Amongst that information, along with the size of RAM, was the type of RAM (PC100, PC133, etc..) I can't find this program for the life of me... or one similar to it despite google searches. Does anyone happen to have an app that does this? |
theres everest
http://www.lavalys.com/products/over...ng=en&pageid=1 and cpu-z <-more suited for your need, everest is very broad http://www.cpuid.com/ |
If you want to run some stress tests on your ram you might look into this: http://www.memtest.org/
Works great and you can let it run for days to "burn in" your new ram and make sure it's good stuff. |

Thanks a ton! cpu-z did the trick!

I vouch for Memtest86, it's quite thorough and gets the job done without question.

Thanks helped me as well!¨
Off to the pc-store to fill in the slots with right components... |
I was going to whack a vote for Aida32 but it appears to be Everest. It's an extremely useful program I tend to keep on a USB key (needs no install) for all sorts of diagnostic purposes.
