Wireless network card problem
lets get this out of the way first... i have a lap top running windows XP and it supports cardbus 32. I have a device that is cardbus 32 working on the machine already, and both PCMICA slots work. I am trying to get a netgear MA521 to work on my machine. The problem i am running into is it can not get to a screen ethier through window's configuration utiliites or netgears. I have uninstalled reinstalled updated and removed a hot fix netgear suggested removing, I have no idea why this is happening, anyone out there have any ideas.. let me know if you need more info

Huh?
I, for one, have no idea what your problem is. "it can not get to a screen" is the closest I can get, but I don't really know what that means. What isn't working? Edit: I think I may have figured out your question... Did you put the card in and it won't recognize it? If so, check device manager when the card is plugged in. If there's an unknown device, you need drivers. If not, make SURE both slots work (as in try swapping out your other cardbus 32 device to make sure the empty slot works). If they both work, and Windows still doesn't recognize the card, the card itself may be dead. |
Try installing the software before plugging in the device.
