Partitioning
Alright, I got my new computer all built and up and running.
When I first inserted the WindowsXP Pro CD, I created a 40gig system partition for Windows. Now after Windows is installed, how do I go and make the rest of the partition (another 160 gigs [200 gig HDD]) |
Im not at an XP machine, so I cant verify this exactly, but it goes something like this:
Start >> Settings >> Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Computer Management >> Storage >> Disk Management. In there it should show you the unpartitioned space and let you partition it. |
Perfect advice, thanks a whole lot!!!

this is what i did. when you get to this screen in the windows setup.
http://www.blackviper.com/Articles/O.../image1_4.html creat your partitions there. press c. make a 40 gig partition. press c again to make a 160 gig partition. then set up windows on the 40 gig partition. when windows is finished installing. go to my computer. right click on the 160 partition and format it. and you done! NTFS is better than FAT btw. |
