System restore before bootup?
I havn't been here in awhile and it seems I only come back when I screw up this badly...
Well anyway, for some reason I had to need to install a cybercafe program where it didn't let users do anything besides click shortcuts on the desktop. Well I'm glad to say it works great but not I can't get rid of the damn thing. I tried on all the users including admin but I couldn't even get onto a desktop. I could however, stop the program from running while on admin but then I couldn't do anything like System Restore since I couldn't get the startup toolbar. Another thing I tried was to boot to safe mode since I remembered when you do that Windows XP askes you if you want to continue running in safe mode or just System Restore but for some reason I'm not getting that option. So I'm asking here. I really have no idea what to do other then format. Anything help would be greatly appreciated. |

internet cafe programs typically replace the windows shell for added security, which is why you are pretty much in lockdown right now. you should RTFM of the program you're using, or contact them if there's nothing in the documentation about uninstallation.

I was going to just format. Would have been the easiest idea but I somehow got it back to normal. Not really sure how i got it to work but I think it was going on admin, disabling it, then going on guest (account that was affected) and uninstalling it. Just took a little time and some patience. Thanks for the help
