It's bold. It's clean. Everything seems to function, as it should. It's all in all, some very good work. Good job.

The "Examples" don't work on Firefox on WinXP. I see the Loading graphic, but then it doesn't do anything.

The "Outsorcing column highlights red when I pass over it.

The Examples thing is a flash problem. It has nothing to do with the browser. Should be as easy as updating your plug-in. I will test it and see though.

Confirmed on both counts. :D

Great! Thanks for all the comments guys :)

Any of you know anyone that would be interested in this type of work? Id like to send out some emails, but I don't wanna spam - cause I hate spammers - and that would make me a hypocrite. hehe.

Frowning Budah 04-08-2004 06:26 PM

Everything works for me. Loads quick. Easy to read and navigate.
Good job.

Jesus Pimp 04-10-2004 06:40 PM

Looks good. All you need to do now is get rid of all the tables and make CSS your bitch.

tikki 04-10-2004 10:55 PM

Page doesn't validate. Upgrade it to xhtml transitional. Lowercase syntax, etc.

replace b tags with strong and i tags with em

Use the title attribute on your links and the alt attribute on your img tags.

Like JP said, get rid of the tables layout and learn to use CSS positioning.

If you wanna be a web designers, learn the standards. They will be your best friend.

SecretMethod70 04-11-2004 12:35 AM

couldn't say it better than tikki. It looks really nice, but his suggestions are right on all counts.

silver26 04-11-2004 05:27 AM

Good point. I should put it to standards, just for professionalism sakes.

And Im looking into making CSS "my bitch"... haha.

CSS is definitely the future.

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions guys. Keep em coming.

Trying to learn to create a web page myself, I only have html under my belt what other types of languages would you suggest?

Stare At The Sun 04-11-2004 08:48 PM

Personally, I'd say spruce up your font to a something a little different. Nothing crazy, just a little more unique and the like.

Other than that, great layout

tikki 04-11-2004 09:05 PM

learn XHTML and CSS. That'll get you pretty darn far.

The W3C has a lot of great references.

Since i'm just cruising through and don't know shit about this type of thing, I'll add the following based on my own specialty (writing, english language):

"enquire" is an acceptable spelling variant of "inquire", but it would likely look more professional and not risk confusing people to spell it the common way, inquire. :) Just a thought- it looks great, btw!

EDIT: Re-read your page's content- you have a few major punctuation errors (periods instead of question marks). Also, the wording is messed up in a few sentences, like you wrote it and then edited a portion without changing it to account for difference in tense, or words seem to be left out. If you can, run the text through a grammar checker.

If none of this matters to you, then nevermind. :) :) Just being helpful.

silver26 04-15-2004 02:59 PM

Yeah, the Grammer was kinda an afterthought. I needed to get my site up fast. I'll look it over, and good point on the 'inquire' thing.

i think I might post all of my designs that I do here from now on lol... you guys are great at picking it apart (in a good way :))

silver26 04-15-2004 03:18 PM

Actually, I was gonna post this here earlier and forgot....

I was thinking about making a logo, I was holding out on puting one on my site until I made one I really liked.

http://www.ryanstrickland.com/images/logo.jpg

This came about as a joke of sorts. A friend of mine, who has really taken me under his wing since I started this whole thing, always called me his 'Protege'. So, I sent him this for a laugh. I started off with a Mazda logo, tweaked it, and put an R in it.

He thought it was cool, and said to use it for real. What does everyone think of it? Does it still look too much like something you would see on a car?

tritium 04-15-2004 07:53 PM

You've inspired me to get off my ass... tomorrow. :)

Good work, man. I love the use of colors to make a bold statement.

The lines across the top left side kind of fooled my eyes... made me look over them several times. So, I probably lost out on some of the other information you provided.

silver26 04-16-2004 10:37 AM

Glad I inspired someone :) haha

SecretMethod70 04-16-2004 10:41 AM

I think the logo looks great - I didn't think of a car at all. Of course, I rarely think of cars in the first place so maybe I'm not the best example :p
