What cell phone do you have?

Ive got a Motorola T720i, but I'm getting a Nokia 3300

Destrox 03-13-2004 08:22 AM

Nokia 3560, its decent.. but I wish CellOne had better selections, or Verizion had better coverage in my area. I truely love the LG flip series.

StormBerlin 03-13-2004 08:39 AM

this topic sounds like familiar... but I have a Samsung N400. Its a blue flip phone thingee. It's kinda funny lookin. Tough though, I've dropped it alot.

steelerz 03-13-2004 08:43 AM

Motorola T720 now, I'm going to get either the Samsung SCH-a530 or an LG series .

03-13-2004 09:28 AM

We (moonstrucksoul & I) have Nokia 5600's. They are ok, but you can't get personalized polyphonic ringtones unless you have internet on the phones. It's ok, I just use a normal ring, anyhow, because the rest are either annoying or I've used way too much already. Our next phones I hope will be picture phones. They would come in so handy with kids and going to shows.

Audiovox 8300. Was one of the cheapest one available and does all that I need..

WarWagon 03-13-2004 02:03 PM

LG VX3100. Paid next to nothing for it, very small and lightweight, excellent battery life, and I can beat the living hell out of the thing and it never breaks.

bundy 03-13-2004 05:18 PM

nokia 7650.
but the contract is almost up, so i'm looking around for a new one.
i'm interested in getting on board with a 3G phone, but that tech hasn't really taken off here (and to be honest doesn't look like it will)...

03-13-2004 05:38 PM

Siemens M55. Its very small with excellent sound quality and a color screen. I payed $115 brand new from a private seller and am very pleased.

God of Thunder 03-13-2004 05:42 PM

Work-issued Nextel i60

Boring, but at least I don't pay for it.

I have an LG VX4400. I like it, it took a couple days to get used to the buttons on the side though. The voice activated dialing is a great feature, and then phone is packed w/ all kinds of other goodies too, Battery life is good, and it charges quickly.

*edit* I'm on US Cellular not Verizon like the pic shows.

I only have one complaint.. ..battery life. :(

Best phone I could buy at the time. I love the features, and the ease of use, as well as how the phone book works, and the camera. Having someones pic pop up when they call is just to cool, it even looks good on the little 1 inch LCD on the front. Twas expensive, but worth it.

-z3r0- 03-14-2004 04:43 AM

LG 5450 on Altell  but want to upgrade to LG vx-8000 soon hopefully :D

Nokia 8265. Pretty tough little bastard. Been through the washing machine once, taken apart, dried out, and works like a champ.

goddfather40 03-16-2004 06:39 PM

Motorola T720 GSM on Cingular.

I am totally a Motorola fan, I don't care about all the fancy smancy crap, and they have given me the most durable, dependable phones out there.

I used to have a Motorola Timeport that I dropped hundreds of times, dropped in gutters, smashed in car door, etc. and it survived it.

Church 03-16-2004 07:29 PM

Yep, I, as many others have the Motorola T720. I love it.

vatoloco 03-17-2004 05:59 PM

Currently this is the phone (Nokia6800) I have its pretty cool but the connections suck! Im currently with ATT what a mistake I dont recommend them. I got the phone for free thats the only thing I like.

Motorola V60i. Its a good phone--solid, works well, and has all the features I need. It doesnt have a color screen, but I dont really care. The phone seems to be marketed more to business users than consumers, but it works fine for me.

I also have this peice of crap. The buttons on the side are agrivating at minimum. If you accidently push the wrong one when somebody calls, it automatically hangs up on them. The side button will also switch if from ring to vibrate to silent. All you need to do is bump against something and you could miss all of your calls because this piece of crap. Also, using the function keys is an exercise in frustration. Whoever designed this did so with people with very small hands in mind. I can't get through a list of functions without screwing up 6 times becuase the damn buttons are so close together that you can't help pushing 3 of them at any one time. I can't stand this phone.

Loup 03-26-2004 04:24 PM

Motorola T720 - decent enough for the amount that I use it ... ofr now.

IC3 03-26-2004 09:50 PM

I don't have a cell phone...I'm probably like one of the few guys at my age that doesn't have one.

Nokia 3650, the best phone ever. I love this thing. I can use it to play MP3's, play cool games like Splinter Cell(my favorite cell based game), take pictures, and more. I'm always with ATT, which I love. I was with Verizon, but there was always static. ATT sounds like a land line at all time.

What's with all the Motorolas you guys have in the US?

Motorola does not have the best reputation in Australia

I've got a Sony Ericsson Z600 - just got it last week. Its got the works...tri-band, camera, 64K colour screen, bluetooth - it even has V-Rally 2 as a game! And the ringtones are awesome! You can even get a little remote control car that operates via bluetooth and is controlled via the phone - its about the size of a Matchbox Car - but I am yet to get my hands on one!

A lot of people in the U.S. have Verizon because it has the best coverage. Mostly because they use old TDMA towers. Sadly, not many companies still produce quality TDMA phones anymore. So they turn to the only quality phone Verizon has the Motorola T720. I use Cingular (GSM) and have a Motorola V400. I needed a flip phone and my other options I didn't care for. Kyrocera's and LG's aren't worth the plastic they are made with. Nokia's reputation is becoming increasingly worse. And Samsung is the only other company I have heard good things about, I just don't care for their design. Sony's are great phones and I would have gotten one if it had been a flip.

irateplatypus 03-29-2004 12:19 AM

another one of those big motorola's w/the nextel 2 way radio feature. i personally don't have much desire for a phone, but this is a free one i get from work. yay for that.

Samsung SGH-S300. Brought it in from Korea. It's the smallest flip phone I've ever seen, and it's got a full colour screen. It's really nice, but I've been having trouble with the screen. There's a dark spot in the centre that is progressively getting worse, and since it's no longer under the store warranty, I'd have to send it back to Samsung and wait a couple months to get it fixed. Overall though, I'm happy with it.

Verizon Wireless uses CDMA towers.

I loved my MO T720, I talk to a lot of people who have problems with them, but I think it is mostly user error.

I have KY 2235, after I accidently 'user errored' water all over my T720.

T720, I like the user interface on it better than other phones.

Superbelt 04-06-2004 03:09 PM

Little bit upgraded from the other Moto users.

I have a Motorola T721.
Anyone know how much more advanced mine is?

I'm stupid and got AT&T Wireless, it's gsm and the coverage around here, Central PA is significantly below spectacular.

This is my first cell.

dfence 04-06-2004 05:28 PM

I don't have a cell, but I really want one for my birthday in May. Could you give me some advice? I'm looking for a very 'neat' phone, preferably flip or slide, not TOO expensive, camera?, games, style :) . I live in Canada, are there any phones that I won't be able to use here (never had cell before)? I will not be a heavy phone user...
I would like to find a phone that I can buy here. Is ordering over Ebay a good option? Thanks!!

I've got a Kyocera 1135 and its the biggest piece of crapola ever. It gets dust and other various crap UNDER the outer screen and it sticks, and there's no way to get it out. Cover on the 1135 doesn't come off so it can't be cleaned. It seems to be ok at night when its backlit (still have trouble telling battery life or how strong my signal is) but during the day when the sunlight hits it...all you can see it dust, forget about reading the screen.

POS.

I have deep seated dislike ('hate" is too strong a word) for cell phones. It irks me enough as it is when the phone in my apartment rings and I enjoy being out of immediate contact in most cases.
I do use one for work at times when driving company vans/outings with clients/etc and would consider acquiring one if work or any kind of future wife/family situation gave me good reason.

Fred181 04-23-2004 04:58 PM

Question... I live where none of the big (sprint, att, verizon etc) cell companies provide service and the local companies have a horrible selection of phones. I thought I read somewhere about how you can rig your phone, or phones that had "patches" or something so that you could use say a sprint phone on a different network. Am i nuts or is this possible?? Anyone else suffer from this problem or am I the only one living in the boonies.

Then your phone is screwed up, because the 4400 does NOT do this. You might wanna run it by your cell store and have them reload the software -that would probably fix things right up.

Nokia 3300. download charges be damned, I can set virtually any mp3 as my ringtone. :D I'm still getting used to the keyboard but liking it. Last night I caught myself trying to type on my PC keyboard with my thumbnails. yipes!

My previous Nokia 3360 decided to die last month, about 6 months after the phone people told me it was going to soon. The best feature of that phone was its infrared transceiver, useful for backing up/restoring the phonebook/memo pad/organizer functions. It lasted about two and a half years...it still powers on but can not acquire a signal. Before that, I had a Motorola 2297? or some such which only lasted a little longer than a year before dying completely.

Before that...I had a NEC Exec 760 "brick" which I loooooved dearly and served me faithfully for about 5 years. I miss that phone...I have large hands and no one makes phones of decent size any more.

amonkie 07-11-2004 12:04 AM

Samsun VI660- Spring was having a sale where I could get it for $30 instead of $200 after the mail in rebate.... good thing I got it when I did because it jumped back up to $60 after rebates the next week.

Anybody else getting annoyed that you can't get a camera without a camera unless you look really hard? Maybe it's just Sprint, but I want my phone for talking, not for all the other less useful stuff. Don't need somone trying to text message someone on the freeway to run into me. Again.

Motorola V300 Flip deal with camera. love it to death, a few of my friends have samsung camera phones and hate me because i got a 4x zoom on my camera and its good for those incriminating blackmail shots from a distance. its a pretty tough phone with a good bit of features and the super bright color screen has doubled as a flashlight during engine pulls and trips down dark paths. Its my new favorite toy, I just figured out how to make my own ringers from songs last night. good times.

My last one died so they gave me a new one--a Motorola T720. I hate it. I want my other phone back :(

Currently using S/E t610, not a bad phone, sleak and built really quite solid. However, I had always wanted a Motorola V70, the swivel bezel and all that, yet when I went into the market it wasn't available. Now the V80 has debuted, but not in the US, wondering if anyone perusing these boards happens to have any experience with them? Selling at an avg 450 usd unlocked, trying to ascertain whether it'd be worth it.
