8x DVD+/- R/RW: Firmware update

Picked up the Magic Spin (DVDRW8D) 8x DVD+/-R/RW at OM (unable to get the subs,....PISSED!!!)....Wondering if there are any firmware updates for the Magic Spin?...Did some digging and couldn't find much out there....

I already live n' die by dvdrhelp.com, but thanks for the link. Can't seem to find anything solid on that sight/google. Mainly, I was curious to know if anyone had this particular model and knew about the firmware updates. I believe Magic Spin is a rebadged IO (#DVDRW8D)....

look up the oem maker via the fcc parts number on the label. that will give you an idea of who's really making that drive...

Nevermind, here's your answer. Firmware and all.

Actually, I guess you can say the problem has been solved. Instead of dealing with the potential problems associated with the MagicSpin, I returned it. I took it back to the OM I purchased at and had my 'deal guy' substitute my exchange for the Pacific Digital (Lite-On 851s f:GS08). Now I'm a little more comfortable to get started. Any tips for beginner DVD burner?
