Has anybody encountered this? Every now and then, an audio ad will start playing in Windows XP. When I watch the list of processes, nothing quits after the ad finishes playing, and AdAware doesn't pick up anything.

Oral pleasure from a harem of Egyptian virgins for shedding light on this one for me.

... usually virgins arnt that good at giving oral...

but anyways i know theres been reports of aim doing this... some of its ads have video now...

this happened to me.

It was AIM.

My first thought was AIM too and I hope they get rid of those damn audio ads real soon!!

Yeah, that sounds exactly like AIM. It now features awesome audio ads. I keep my volume turned off unless playing games for this very reason. There's no pop-up or anything, it simply starts playing.

I think it's AIM, too. I couple months ago I kept hearing ads for Matrix Revolutions when I had nothing else open. It scared the heck out of me because I had no idea where it was coming from.

Cheers for this one. My roommate was asking me about it, and I had no idea. Just in case you haven't seen it before, Trillian is a great, free alternative. It works with all the major networks, so you aren't losing anything.

It has never happend to me, but I use AIM+ which gets rid of the ads.
