Cannot create direct show player - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

So I click on a link that is a short vid. Used to be I would see the vid. But now I get the above massage and no vid. WTF? Someone suggested I delve into the depth of microsofts website and down load dirextX and insall it. So I did, but nothing changed.
Oh yea, I'm browsing w mozilla.

probably missing codecs.

direct show is just the overall video playing system.

check media player

do you get the same error with other browsers? and what kind of file is the video (.mov, .wma, .mpg, .......)?

do a repair install on media player, it should have that option in the add/remove software component
