Help with "Right-click, Save As"
Ok, so I find an image I want to keep and I "right-click, save as" but now my computer is automatically saving all .gif or .jpg files as bitmaps to My Pictures directory!
Why is it doing this all of a sudden? What settings need to be adjusted so it will preserve the original file type without converting to .bmp every time (because they are huge!). Thanks for your help. |
I used to have this problem on my windows 2000 machine. Service Pack 4 and IE6 Service Pack 1 corrected the problem.

If I remember correctly a few other have had this same problem, and I believe the fix was to empty your internet cache.

Yes.... your cache needs to be cleared, Tools/Internet Options.... Under 'Temporary Internet Files' click Delete files/OK
I use a cool program called Popupcop....... It kills all the popups and has a history kill that clears all your Cookies, Typed URL's, History, Recent Documents ect....... it also stops dialers from auto downloading when you get redirected, actually it stops all programs from auto downloading..... you have to click yes to allow the download. It's only $20...... and you can try it for 30 days free :) http://www.popupcop.com/ |
or try norton system works. great program to do all of your cleaning.

If cleaning out your cache doesn't work, try right-clicking on the thumbnail and "Save Target As"

Clearing the cache worked! Sweet. Thanks guys!
I wonder why that has anything to do with the way image files are saved... |
