how to get rid of windows messenger
i just reinstalled windows and windows messenger is all over the place, it wont leave me alone... and i cant find where to uninstall it... anyone know? thanks
Which version of windows do you have?
XP
you mean the system popups? If so Start-Run type services.msc and scroll tot he messenger service. right click and select properties, then disabled in the pull down menu. then stop the service and it will trouble you no more.
If you have service pack 1 it will allow you to uninstall such programs as msn messanger. Microsoft had to do this because of some court order but all you have to do is go to add/remove programs in the control and then click on add/remove windows components and unselect msn messanger.

Hmm, maybe it's a startup thing, go to run and then type in msconfig.

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove
