Ok, so... Running WinXP Pro, with two user accounts, both admin accounts. Several partitions.

One account is my wife's, since she likes to organize her own desktop and use the candy gui, and I dislike the latter.

Let us assume that I like to download porn, and my wife doesn't really dig it. Porn, that is. Is there a way for me to create folders on one of the partitions that are only visible to me? And hence only I can access?

Yep - easy if you have an NTFS partition on your drive. Create a folder on that drive and tell it not to inherit permission - then remove all users except your so only you will have access to it.

I cannot seem to be able to figure out how to do this. I could not find anything related to this in the folder's properties. I know it is a hassle, but could you, or someone else, give me more specific instructions?

Open up the folder and pull down Tools, select "Folder Options".

Go to the "View" tab and locate "Use simple file sharing (recommended)". Uncheck this box. Click OK.

Now go to the folder properties and find the security tab. By default, my harddrive shows "Everyone - Full Access (inhereted)" as the permissions. To change this, click Advanced and uncheck the "Inheret from parent the permission entries that apply to child objects." checkbox. Click OK to close out of the Advanced Security Settings window.

Click the "Everyone" user in the security pane and click remove. Now, click "Add", type in your user name, and hit OK. Make sure that your user has Full Control permissions and then go to Advanced again.

This time, click the "Replace permissions on all child objects with entries shown here that apply to child objects" checkbox and click OK. It will now go through every file in the directory and set up the permissions so that only your user can access it.
