Anti-Virus Subscription - Part II

ok, thanks for all the help on the earlier thread.

i've looked @ the UT site and found out that they offer free downloads of 'Symantec AntiVirus Client 8.1.0.825'.

i currently use nav 2002 + norton internet security. (i think they also offer internet security free of charge).

what is the difference between these 2 clients?? which is better? or are they the same??

Norton AV is an antivirus program.

no, that's not what i meant

i was wondering if 'NAV 2002' and 'Symantec AntiVirus Client 8.1.0.825'

the reason for this is cuz when i go to about in NAV, i see the version # as 8.07.17

Symantec has given the name of 'Norton' to its line of antivirus software for the home and small business. 'Symantec' is the name for the enterprise/corporate editions. The underlying core for each is the same but the 'Symantec' corporate edition has features to better allow large oraginzations to manage everyone's antivirus client.

Thank you for contacting Symantec Online Customer Service.

The version of Symantec AntiVirus that you have indicated UT is offering is a
Corporate Edition of AntiVirus, you currently have the consumer edition
installed.

The two AntiVirus versions are not interchangeable for subscriptions. To
install the version of AntiVirus that UT is offering it would be necessary for
you to uninstall your current version of Norton AntiVirus.

If I can be of further assistance, please let me know.
