Need help with PS2 Eye Toy
Hya all, this is my first thread so I'm a bit excited (ehmm.. geek).
I just got the PS2 Eye Toy thing for my birthday (http://www.eyetoy.com) and I gotta say it's pretty cool. A few friends and I played all last evening. Mostly we enjoyed making fun of each other bouncing like apes in front of the TV. Anyway, the thing is I tried to connect the Eye Toy camera hardware (comes with a USB connector) to my PC to see if it can serve as a web cam as well. Well, all I got was my winXP stuck for a while and then it installing the hardware as Logitech USB camera or something, but it also flagged it as not properly installed (the yellow annoying question mark, ya know). So I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this new hardware and if anyone has succeeded in using it as a web cam. Oh, one more thing, the Eye Toy games are mostly for kids, so if you feel too grown-up, don't buy it - you have been duly forewarned. |
I doubt that the EyeToy will work on your PC without 3rd party tools or a converter. Besides, the camera has a built-in motion sensor that has no use on a PC webcam.

what does one of those go for?

I was thinking just that Deflok, it also seems like a terrible overkill to use such a sophisticated device as a web cam, but still, since I have it and still haven't purchased a web cam I thought I would give it a go.
As for the cost - can't really say, it was a gift. |
