USB/digital camera problems! - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

My digital camera is a Nikkon Coolpix 700series. My computer is a dell with a windows xp operation system. The camera uploaded its memory cards just fine until my little cousin decided to free up more space on my hard drive by deleting a photoshop-esq thing called "Dell Picture Studio". Now the computer dosent dectect the camera or anything! When I deleted the Dell Picture Studio, did I delete my chances of ever uploading again?!

Have you reinstalled the software that came with the camera? Look under device manager while the camera is attached, does it see anything?

the modern nikons are 'storage class devices' so they shouldnt need drivers under 2k or XP they just appear as a drive. older ones need drivers (pre 995)

do yourself a huge favour and just get a usb card reader or the like, its a lot less hassle and faster too. i wore my 990s connector out and was forced to get one
