SD or MMC for Treo 90
I just got a treo 90,and it can take either SD or MMC card's...is there an advantage to one over the other at all, or are they just about the same?

By SD, do you mean SmartMedia or do you mean SecureDigital?
Generally, theyre all the same. SecureDigital, as the name implies, is more secure. SO if u are gonna have tender, secret files on the thing...go with SecureDigital. Otherwise, MMC is fine. MMC is supposed to be cheaper too. |
I was under the impression the SD cards are only secure if the material on them is stored in a secure fashion, i.e.: you purchased an SD card with MP3 files on it.
I haven't noticed a huge price difference in SD vs. MMC cards. I bought a SanDisk 128 MB SD card from Staples for $50 on sale - few months ago. |
by SD I mean smart digital. I just don't understand what would inherently make a SD card more secure then a MMC card.
so there is no speed difference between the two or anything? -happymaan |
SD is supposedly a little faster or so I've heard.
|
Secure Digital is so called because it integrates some sort of DRM. I don't know all the details, but basically it's not really 'secure' unless you're the RIAA or MPAA and you don't want your precious intellectual property copied off the card.

SD is twice as fast when transferring data. Cards can be up to double the size of MMC due to the structure. It's worth the extra few bucks.
