search doesnt work

Whenever i go to search, all i see is a dog, nothing else. I use windows xp. any help would be appreciated.

you mean the search in windows xp? Start > search. ?
and if you mean the little orange/yellow cartoon dog, then ya, he's annoying. you should see your options on top.
what version of xp? home or pro? maybe you have some sort of virus/spyware?

Depending on the space/memory you have can contribute to certain things like a search not to startup all the way. Mexican is right though as well, update all your virus/spyware/adware software first. These can prevent you from searching, due to the fact that they dont want you to find certain files to delete.
