TV half dead?
So my 27 inch non flat screen Samsung TV (Model no. TXH2555) has a problem:
the top half of the screen is black. Between both halves is a bright white line. I bought it used for 100 bucks (yeah, I know, stupid), and the only problem I noticed is that sometimes it'd switch itself off and back on, but nothing very bothersome. Any TV experts? any recommendations as to what to do, if anything? |
It has lost the virtical output.
It is fixable. Do not run the TV until you get it fixed - you may burn a line on the picture tube. |
Well, how can I fix it? Is it affordable? Is there anything I can do myself? Is the repair gonna cost more than what I paid for the TV?
It's got its problems, and even if I repair the vertical output, there's still that weird issue about it switching off/on by itself, which could eventually become something more serious. I don't know what to do.. |
Talk to someone at a TV repair shop.
Get an estimate. The two problems may be related. If you have to ask, you can't repair it yourself. |
