The internet is Kittens!

Backwards kittens.

One guy's version of a cute and harmless wifi honeypot.

Nothing amazing but I applaud him for putting into practice one of those things we often dream about then drop for lack of time.

Oh, what to use for the SSID? :) "FreeWifiandVisionTest"

Any stories of your own that didn't involve damage to person or property? My own would have to be printing shenanigans. I used to seriously screw with people in the office who (ab)used my lasers. Creating typos where they didn't exist (their/there/they're), random missing or double pages, mystery scaling or n-up. Heh. Almost made me sorry to get an office.

Haha -- that's awesome. I wonder, though.. if the neighbors are just using his connection for downloading. If they're just using some P2P client, they'd never notice their newly kittenized-upsidedown-blurred internet.

wow.... that's pretty cool.

one year my neighbor sat on my connection for a bit. Every week I started blocking access to particular websites, like google.com, aol.com, nytimes.com. Then I started blocking email sending, could receive emails, but not send. Then as the Christmas shopping started, I blocked https access.

:) fun!!!

There's a tale of a similar situation told on bash.org. This website, if you're unfamiliar is usually a collection of "one-liners" taken (at first) from IRC and from modern IM services like AIM or Yahoo or MSN Messenger. Frankly put, it's hilarious.

(Mootar) morons.
(Mootar) these people who live in my apartment complex are connected to my wireless
(Mootar) they must think they're super-cool hackers by breaking into my completely unsecure network
(Mootar) unfortunatly, the connection works both ways
(Mootar) long story short, they now have loads of horse porn on their computer

I'm assuming that horse porn is not dirty pictures that horses like to look at....

Interesting, but of course in real life you would assume someone who is computer literate enough to realise they can place horse porn on someone's computer across a wireless network to be computer literate enough to password their wifi in the first place.

At least now I have an excuse if my wife finds my horse porn collection.

"Oh, honey, I was putting it on our neighbor's computer."

Not at all. Double click that flashy thing in your system tray (wireless network configuration), select a network, and click connect. Repeat until MySpace comes up.

I know at least couple people that aren't terribly computer savvy, yet that's how they get their internet access...
