Alcohol 120%

Ok, I am having problems understanding the concept of Alcohol 120%. I am just trying to install .mdf and .mds files. Can anyone talk me through the process of doing this using Alcohol 120% The .mdf file is over 2 gigs so I can't burn it to cd. What is this virtual drive and emulation business? I have no idea how to use this program. Pleeeeease help. I am eager to learn!

Alcohol 120% is a virtual cd/dvd drive program meaning it will take an image file of a cd or dvd (your mdf and mds files) and make it look like it's an actual cd or dvd loaded into a cd/dvd drive on the PC. When you install it you'll end up with a new cd/dvd drive listing in "my computer", when you load the images in alcohol 120% it'll appear as if you inserted a disc into that new drive. Additionally alcohol 120% can burn a disc from the image or create an image from a disc you have. Hope this clarifies things a bit

Like I suggested in that other thread, use Daemon Tools. It's much more intuitive. You start up the virtual drive, right click Daemon icon in tray, select the drive and mount> and then select your MDS/MDF to load it. VOILA! If all worked correctly, Windows (and everything else that matters) will believe you have a real CD in the drive.

And from there, it's only a matter of installing from your pirate.. .. errm.. I mean legit.. disk. :)
