Trying to reinstall windows on friend's computer; can't seem to get to BIOS screen.
I'm trying to get to my friend's BIOS screen on his "viavpsd" computer (I've never heard of it, and their website is down; probably for good) so I can set it to boot by CD, but it seems all I can get to is safe mode. I've tried F1, F2, F6, F8, F11, F12, and Delete, but none of them seem to get me where I need to go. His computer won't boot, and in safe mode it pops up an alert that he needs to reinstall windows, and when you click ok it shuts down.
Does anyone have any knowledge of this sort of computer? I think all I have to do is get it to boot Windows from the disc; that's how I fixed my dad's computer and my brother's computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated! |
you might try getting an error (the easiest way is to hold any key down while booting) - you should get a "keyboard stuck" error which should stop and prompt you on how to enter the bios.

when you turn the computer on, does it show all the POST process or does it hide the information? in the case of hidding it when you turn it on, keep pressing the tab button as it might show you how to get to bios. hope this helps

Add Escape to your list of panic-keys.
