now Eli is a Giant!
looks like a great trade for the Chargers. they get the draft rights to Philip Rivers, plus they get the Giants' 3rd round pick in the '04 draft plus they also get the Giants' 1st and 5th round picks in the '05 draft! Last edited by bond007; 04-24-2004 at 09:24 AM.. |

Wouldn't it be funny if the Chargers went to the Super Bowl during his career and the Giants did nothing! We can only hope!

with or without Phillip Rivers, the Chargers will NOT be going to the Super Bowl so long as Marty Shottenheimer is coach. Marty-ball does NOT work. Marty, and his protege Bill Cowher, have proven that over and over and over and...

Marty is 162 - 113
Cowher 120-82-1 Marty ball can definitely work as far as taking you to the playoffs consistently. All thats needed is some extra talent to win a Super Bowl. To say it does NOT work is just a flat lie, but then i agree that the chargers wont go to the Super Bowl but they will certainly improve. |

look at both of their playoff records and then tell me how well it works. "some extra talent" is not what either of them needed to succeed in the playoffs, some extra brains is. however, I'll grant you that is does work in the regular season, to a degree (hell, both of them have had 13 wins seasons). However, as a method for winning a championship (which, IMHO, is the only reason to play the game, and the truest measure of success) Marty-ball is an abject failure.
