Bye BYe Bonzi

The Blazers finally traded Bonzi Wells for the Grizzlies 1st round pick and Wesley Person.

First of all, did the Blazers fall off or what? They almost went all the way for a couple years, to being among the laughing stock of the Western Conference.

They seemed to get a pretty good trade out of it though, with the Grizzlies likely to be a lottery pick despite having a pretty good time. Person is still pretty good and can stabilize Portland somewhat.

I hope Hugh does a better job with him than Mo Cheeks did though. Bonzi has a lot of talent.

This is a good pickup for the Grizzlies. Maybe Bonzi can get his head straight since he's no longer a JailBlazer.

When was the last season Bonzi Wells wasn't suspended at least three games?

I dunno if getting him away from Portland will take the bad attitude out of him. Couldn't hurt, though.

Portland is a team that will officially be rebuilding in the next few years. The current cast of characters just hasn't gotten it done, despite the abundance of talent. The first round pick will be nice in that regard.

The Grizzlies picked up a known commodity in Wells - he certainly has talent. We'll see how it works out.

The TrailBlazers have assembled the worst bunch of professional athletes in my lifetime. Being a millionaire is becoming so hard these days. Cant you wait until after you are forty and retired to get caught at the airport with pot or drive while intoxicated?

Chad Ford was talking about how last week, Ruben Bumjte Bumjte was practicing his shot. Wallace and Wells came in and Wallace thought it would be funny to throw a ball as hard as he could at him.

From 100 yards away Wallace nails Ruben and hurts him. Wallace and Wells run out laughing.

They are BOTH SCUM!!!!!

Please, that shit happens all of the time, regardless of the team or sport. If Boumtje Boumtje really was injured because of this, it was a totally stupid act and the players stepped over that imaginary line where horseplay ends, but pro sprts are like any job in that you have a number of different personalities on every team and things like this happen. Granted they are essentially a team of degenerates in Portland and I think getting out of tonw can only help B Wells, but it remains to be seen. How will he react to the possibility of reduced playing time? How will he react the first time he recieves some real disciplinary action for something stupid he does? I'm interested to see what happens.

When Wells was a high school senior in Indiana he was on the state All-Star team. Indiana's All-Stars play Kentucky's All-Stars every year. Bonzi got dropped from the team for being Bonzi. He won't change. He's a punk.

100 yard strike throwing anything, let alone a basketball?!? 100 yards?! That Wallace must have a helluva arm. Maybe he should switch sports and play out in right field. Or quarterback with that kind of accuracy. Do they even make gyms or practice facilities that large?!

Black Belt in Slacking Off

As a Portland native (attending college in Philly) I couldn't be happier about this trade. I get so much trash talk about my Blazers and I know most of it is deserved. We will be fine with the Bonz, Derek Anderson should recover from his injury soon. We didn't need two shooting guards, especially if one is a total punk that hurts the team effort.
