Heisman Poll

If you had a vote in the heisman ballot, who would you vote for.

Just for fun, here is a thread i started before the season about heisman candidates.

http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/showthr...threadid=23247

I would vote for Jason White

he's undefeated as a starter. he has amazing stats for this season, playing only for one half of each game. he's had surgery on both legs, yet came back to lead his team this year.

I've heard that he is going to apply for medical redshirt, though not 100% on that.

anyway, your vote & reason.

-----------------

List your #2 and/or #3 choice if you please.

SAM821 11-29-2003 08:17 PM

I think Miami just helped solidify the Heisman Trophy for Jason White...

Fitzgerald mangaged a touchdown catch, but he was kept in check the whole game....

I think White wins it easily...

gov135 11-29-2003 08:25 PM

You can make a big case for Manning or Fitzgerald. White, however, will win going away.

djtestudo 11-29-2003 08:35 PM

I'd vote for Fitzgerald. White will win, though.

empu 11-29-2003 08:43 PM

White. Great season on a great team. 2nd is Perry after last week. 3rd is Manning. Fitzgerald is the best at his position, and fun to watch, but it takes a lot for a WR to really be a game breaker.

SAM821 11-29-2003 08:53 PM

Just to play a little devils advocate...

since the Heisman "should" go to the best player in the game...

I would vote for Sean Taylor, S, Miami...

This guy is CLEARY the best safety in the nation (9 int. 3 ret. for TD's) He might be the best overall player in the game...

Did i forget to mention how hard he hits?

Obviously I know he wont even get many votes.... I just wanted to point him out.... though Charles Woodson won it right? (but he played offense and special teams....oh well)

Liquor Dealer 11-30-2003 08:05 AM

I would pick Jason White - he is a born leader - has made the very most out of personal adversity and isn't an arrogant cocky bastard like so many big time college athletes.

If the best player won the award every year, Fiztgerald would win it this year. And Roy Williams would have won it 2 years ago. The mos dominating player in the sport rarely wins over the last 10 years or so. the player that is the most high profile on one of the most dominating teams does nowadays. Shame in some respects, but those are the guys who get the media coverage.

I think Jason White will win it this year, and in a lt of ways deservedly so. hell of a story.

UTRA 11-30-2003 03:39 PM

A heisman trophy winner on a team other than one of the top 5 in the nation would be really rare. I don't know of too many who deserve it other than White. But be on the lookout for Vince Young out of Texas in a couple of years.

Liquor Dealer 11-30-2003 03:52 PM

Texas has a monkey on its back - It will always be a loser until it gets the monkey off! Texas cannot win when it counts. Very seldom do they give Heisman Trophies to players off of losers. When Texas can figure out how to win when it counts things might change.

The_Dude 11-30-2003 03:57 PM

We think Cedric Benson has a shot at the heisman next year. He's had 5 200 yard games in a row so far. Ricky Jr ;)

VY still has time.

Shpoop 11-30-2003 07:14 PM

my god after seeing perry in the OSU mich game, i gave him my vote

he kept running his hardest, and getting tons of yards, even though it took him 30 seconds to get up after every hit

Brian Fellows 12-01-2003 01:09 AM

Gotta go with Eli Manning, his team is nothing without him.

Nimbletoe 12-01-2003 05:49 AM

Perry. Yes, its semi biased, but who cares, the guy is a fucking machine, and I hope my lions draft him :P

archer2371 12-01-2003 05:01 PM

Jason White. Best player on the best team, how could you not vote for this guy?

Damnyankee 12-02-2003 11:12 AM

Perry for sure, yes I'm biased but who really cares! If you saw him in the OSU game, he should at least get the most heart award. The guy is awesome!

absorbentishe 12-03-2003 12:03 PM

It's got to be Perry. The way he took it to the Buckeyes (My team), show's he's a dominate player. He played great, in the greatest game of the year, and beat the best run defense while he was at it.

Jesus Malverde 12-03-2003 02:10 PM

Fitzgerald is a better athlete.

Liquor Dealer 12-03-2003 02:55 PM

Another thing one migfht keep in mind - White and the Sooners will both be winners and number one when the season ends. Jason White all the way!!!

rrf 12-03-2003 05:08 PM

fitzgerald should win it, i say
he is dominant

its the best player in college, not the best player on the best team, i say

Actually, the more I consider it, Jason White may be the best player in college. He has a 6-1 TD-INT ratio. Most great quarterbacks have a 3-1 or so.

I think it's now a tie between White and Fitzgerald.

goddfather40 12-03-2003 08:29 PM

What about USC quarterback Matt Leinart? I think White should win it, but Leinart is definitely in the top ten.

djtestudo 12-06-2003 10:20 PM

It is official...I have seen the winner...and his name is Fitzgerald...

The_Dude 12-06-2003 10:25 PM

maybe i should start a new thread about this after big xii championship.

bigoldalphamale 12-08-2003 10:19 AM

manning.

thedrake 12-08-2003 11:49 AM

Ell Roberson kicked ass against Oklahome

absorbentishe 12-08-2003 01:24 PM

So does Jason White's performance Saturday totally eliminate him from the vote? Even though he was so good all season? Just thought I'd toss that out there.

The_Dude 12-08-2003 01:33 PM

Fitzgerald also had a bad game with 3 catches.

Nimbletoe 12-08-2003 02:09 PM

The top 3 contenders for the heisman on our poll (White, Fitzgerald and Perry) all had one bad game.

Liquor Dealer 12-08-2003 05:11 PM

I really hope that Saturday didn't hurt White too much. He's one helluva' kid who has overcome all sorts of painful obstacles- he's still the best of the crop - by quite a lot.

TitleFight 12-08-2003 05:41 PM

Has anyone seen that kid for Miami, OH. I'm pretty sure his name is Ben Rothlisberger, of course I'm not sure of the spelling. I was checking out his stats earlier and for all those picking QB's in this poll you might want to take a look. Damn impressive if you ask me. I remember his yardage, and td/int ratio was much better than Eli's, and very comparable to Jason White's.

That said I gave the nod to Little Larry.

Glory's Sun 12-08-2003 09:49 PM

I would go with Fitz..but I'm sure that White will win it..
