Am I the only one that hates Tim McCarver? Can this guy make his commentary any more pointless or biased? Jesus. I dunno why they ask him back every year. Personally, I like the ESPN broadcast with Jon Miller and Joe Morgan. Anybody but Steve Lyons and Tim McCarver.

I dont really pay attention to him...

but on the other hand, I like Steve Lyons.. he doesn't take his position too seriously.

I think he likes to hear himself talk.
I always feel like he feels superior to his audience. I'd rather feel like I'm watching the game with a knowledgable fan than Mr. know it all.

He's got a great voice with alot of inflection but I don't really pay attention to him.

That about sums it up perfectly. He's almost as bad as Al "Mr. Name-dropper" Hrabosky. (He calls the Cardinal games on FOX Sports)

I think he is permanently attached to the Yankees jock, he calls the fox saturday game here in the evil empire.

I can't STAAAAND McCarver. Hrabosky sucks too. I'm a Cardinal fan and Cubbie territory so I have to listen to the Cards on the radio to follow and Hrabosky drives me nuts!

And with McCarver, the guy just is way too opinionated. And by that I mean he tries too often to make a stance on something minor within the game, and then dwells on it for too long. Also, he does seem to project that "I'm am better than thou" thing.

Joe Morgan and the other old guy that do sunday and wednesday night baseball are a lot better

he's a baseball toady - both he and zimmer should hit the shuffle board courts

Speaking of extra-curricular activities for these two, why not have a death match between Zimmer, McCarver, Johnny Pesky and Bill Lee? God that'd be great and if would be the first of many beatings the Yankees will incur in the coming years from the Sox.

I'd also like to see how well Jeff Nelson would fare against the groundskeeper if Nelson didn't have cleats on and Karim Garcia punching the dude in the face.

The Yankees are a fucking joke. I'll be so glad when Steinbrenner's $180 million goes down the tubes when his team loses to either the Sox or Cubs.

FINALLY! I agree about something with a Yankee fan! Bret Boone is the only saving grace with this crew. He's only the relatively unbiased one, and his baby bro plays for the Yanks! Unreal. Fox really fucked this series up.

A bit off the subject, but after seeing Mia Hamm's side-profile in the seats, if Nomar and she have kids, they are gonna have some freaking huge noses.

Buck and McCarver are the most emotionless, monotone, arrogant assholes ever to sit in a broadcast booth.

Hey Joe, just because your father was one of the all-time greats, that doesn't mean you ever will be (by the way, this goes for Jeremy Schaap, too). Listen to a tape of your dad sometime, you might learn how to properly call a home run.

Why do we have a ex Jock in the first place. Why can't these guys get a job selling cars or insurance and stop annoying us with thier babble about stuff no one cares about or even needs to know.

Please tell me why Joe Morgan is good? He is the antithesis of what is wrong with commentators today. Instead of bringing in some relevance of what happened or how it should have been done, he will say things like, "It is important to get that one run in." He says this while the bases are loaded with no outs and team at the plate is down by 10.

Joe Morgan sucks, Tim McCarver is worse, and Steve Lyons is only good at having his pants fall down.

I rank sportscasters on how many times I need to correct them during a game....McCarver is consistantly wrong about the game, the players, the history, etc...and the most annoying thing is that he thinks he's great....
