Is Junior Seau past his prime?

The other day, the Miami Dolphins traded for Junior Seau. They didn't give up much, and I like the acquisition. He certainly strengthened their team IMO, and I feel that their real weakness now is at Quarterback (not a Fiedler fan really).

Do you think Junior Seau still has a few good years in him, or do you think he is old and past his prime?

He might be past his prime, but not by much. I think it was a great deal for the Dolphins.

While he may not have all the skill he once did (he is still one of the top linebackers) he will bring a sense of passion about the game and be a good leader. Great pick for miami and all they had to give up was a 5 or 6 round pick, i think.

As a Dolphins fan, I'd like to think he has a few years left in the tank. Especially since he's not going to be "the guy" in Miami. I think he was brought in as much for his attitude as his playing ability.

I agree that they need to strengthen themselves at QB. But I also think they need to shore up the O-Line. That's something they can do in the draft even though they don't have many picks.

I'm torn about all of the Brian Greise talk though. I'm not sure if that would be a step forward or a step back.

I agree.

As a Bronco fan, I feel your anguish over the Griese situation. I don't think he's a great player, but I've met him in person and he seems like a nice guy. Hopefully he excels in Miami or wherever he ends up. Now I only have to worry about Jake the Snake...

I thin Seau's role will be more leadership than being an animal on the field. I think he's past his prime, but still better than alot of the other LBs out there.

Past his prime - definitely.
He won't play too much in Miami, he's lost a step, and I think he'll be a better team leader and teacher than player.

A pretty good deal for Miami, because a late round pick may be a bust, or role player.

Big leadership role in a team that has what it need to go to the SuperBowl. It's a win-win situation for both Seau and the Dolphins.

If i were a chargers fan i'd be really pissed off. He was really a franchise guy. They got shit for him.

Seau was great, still good, but not the same has those 160 tackles seasons. I am happy to see him go to the Dolphins, but as long as Whanny is head coach, forget it

Seau is over-rated, that being said, he is still an above average LB. Watch a game, and see how the comenators suck up...where is he going to play, Phins already have a stud named Zach in the middle
