Management!
I've been managing a team for the last couple of months (football team this is)... and I never realised I had such depths of angst in me.
In my work job I am a supervisor in a data processing team, and I am the most understanding, gentle, socialist, kind of manager you could imagine. My football (soccer) team has lost their first 6 games and managed 3 goals so far. It took me 3 1/2 games to break out of being supportive and encouraging to be marching round the dressing room at half time yelling at people and telling them they were playing like cunts... It definitely is the hardest balance... when you are running an amateur (sic) team - on the one hand realising that no one is getting paid to be there and its supposed to be fun first of all, and on the other hand you want to fucking WIN...

It all depends on the league you are playing in. For several years I have captained and coached our baseball team and when the team has been competitive with the right mix of players, we've gone balls to the wall and fuck you if you think you arent' getting enough playing time - too bad, you're shit, get better.
On the other hand, this year is very much a rebuilding year and we have no real hope of winning more than a handful of games - so this year it's all about having fun and improving.

Also note that if your players are under ten years of age, calling them cunts may not have the motivating effect you're hoping for.
Just throwing it out there.

Nah ,they are all grown men.
And well... I have a French guy playing for me... who played 40 mins game of squash an hour before the game, turned up to play (cycling from squash game to football), and had to come off before half time cos he was fucked... he deserved to be called a cunt (for example)

Except for Chabal - I would never call Chabal a cunt, at least not to his face.
