Tigers don't change their stripes, the coordinators of this event should have known better than to get Pete Rose there to talk to kids.

Pete now serves as a good example of a bad example. Never say the man is completely useless.

it's amazing how many of these guys are self absorbed pricks. Makes you appreciate the good guys more.

I remember I had a McGregor glove with the manufactured Pete Rose signature and he instantly was my favorite player. Then around 5th or 6th grade a friend of mine had come back from vacation and said his family stayed at the same hotel the Reds players had. He told me how all the players were really nice except Pete Rose. That when he went up to get Pete's signature, Pete said, "why should I sign anything for you?" and walked away. But my friend said Johnny Bench and Tony Perez went over and signed.

How true that was I don't know, but he had the signatures.

I know people now who know Pete through our shared problem and GA. They all have the same view of him: pompous asshole who cares and talks only about himself.

My response is, "I like to put forks in an eletrical socket, just LOVE that feeling, can't ever get enough of it, so will you let me put this copper fork in that electric socket?"
