Glass dildo

Not to take away from the dildo v. vibrator thread, I'm thinking about getting my wife one for v-day. When we went shopping for her first toy we bought a regular rubber vibrating dildo and while we were there she hinted about wanting a glass toy also. I want some opinions from some of the ladies who've used them. Are they better? Does the fact that you can heat/freeze them make that much of a difference? Smooth or rippled? Both? I found this one on babeland.com I'm thinking about getting:

Thanks for the insights.

glass is supposed to feel really nice and smooth, and the heat/cold thing is important too. just make sure to be careful with the thing, because if you nick it even a little that's a hundred smackers down the drain! JT's Stockroom has a great selection, their shipping is really timely, and the've got great prices. This is the link to their dildo's page, scroll down till you get to the glass section. good hunting!

lurkette loves hers.

The temperature thing is a little overrated. There's a very small range of comfortable temperatures for her bits. Playing with temperatures inside that range is interesting, and gets her attention, but mostly she likes the toy warmed to body temperature.

lurkette's glass toy has three big bloops on it. She doesn't like a lot of "in-out" movement with it, but it's real good to wiggle gently or twist inside her. It's really the only toy she enjoys penetration with.

Mmmm, I love my glass toy. It's my favorite!! I've named it Ira. :-D

It's easy to clean, it's versatile, it's cool when you put it in at first but it warms up nicely, and it's purty. I've never really cared much for vibrators, so I'm maybe not the most representative sample, but this beats vibes hands down IMHO.

I have the "Pure Pleasure" bloopy glass one about halfway down the page. Acrylic is also nice:

My friend D has the "Bloop Wand" one at the top of the page - she loves hers, too - calls it Pink Friend.

that's a bit interesting, i honestly admit ive never even known that such a thing was made. maybe being a bit conventional, i never would have thought women used those types of things either.

hmm how enlightening =D

The wife and I have looked at these on the web before, but haven't made the jump yet mainly because the things are so darned expensive. $60-$90 is a lot for something that may not live up to the billing.

I think the ones that piqued her interest the most were the "juicer" style ones. I can manage some nifty tricks, but I never have figured out how to get Mr Happy to spin like a top, so that could be a new sensation for her.

Anyone out there in TFP land tried one of that model and have any information to report?

Thanks for the links Lurkette! I was thinking of getting her the Heart's Delight toy. If I may ask a question, (other ladies please feel free to chime in also) do you prefer a toy that's smooth or one with more texture to it? That's pretty much the deciding factor before I buy one. I'm guessing that a smooth glass toy would get boring after a while but with a textured one you can add a little variation.

Maybe what you should do is get her a card and in there say that you'll get her one, then shop for it together. Each woman is different, plus she'll feel that much more special if you include her in the decision.

I love this section of the tf. I keep getting good ideas to bring to my wife to see what we can do to spice up our sex life. The glass dildo looks like it would be pretty interesting to use. Go for it.

My wife and I have purchased 2 of those $120 vibrators, only to have them break within a month or two. So, I say go for it. It will last longer than that and will make a nice mantle piece. You DO have a fireplace in the bedroom, right?

Hardknock 01-31-2005 09:41 PM

I wish. But that's the beauty of owning your own home. You can always add one! :)

They broke within a month or two? How much were you using them?? HEHE So you don't think that anyone else could break them in a shorter amount of time? Just giving people a competition to think about. :p
