Despite a lot of debate from family members who think they know better than I do, I have a two month old little boy who is uncircumcised because my husband and I thought that he should be able to make his own decisions about his penis. Knowing that a lot of women don't care is reassuring to me.

I'd have to say uncut, which I am, and I haven't had any complaints. I think that sensitivity is increased.

I'm pretty sure that EVERYONE who's replied to this thread has misinterpreted the original poster's intentions. He wanted to know what people think of THIS....not just find out if people like cut/uncut.

I think circumcision should be a personal choice. I wouldn't want anyone trimming on my genitals as a child, and I'd say no to this day. A penis is an extension of a man's body in more ways than one and a lot of times is the root of confidence and self-esteem (in various ways, in my experience). The foreskin is pretty much there for a reason. If a child is taught good hygiene and doesn't have any medical complications, than the issue ends up being mostly cosmetic, right? I guess it's hard for me to be objective because, number one: I don't have a penis, and number two: just recently saw a botched circumcision... *shudder*. It took four repairs and if that kid ever pees normally or enjoys sex, it'll be a miracle.

Plus, my ex could pound as hard as I wanted because the skin didn't pull as hard on the head since he was uncut. That was nice. :D

Instead of 'uncircumsised', I think the word you're all looking for is 'normal'.

No, mostly it's because a generation ago, it was strongly pushed in American delivery rooms on hygene grounds. These days most circumcisions are done either for religious reasons, or because Dad was.

I also find that uncut guys who post on Exhibition get far less reaction and comments from either sex than cut boys do. Not that I have any data to back that up. Its just what I find...

You might argue that it's not a good analogy, but I think it's the same deal whether male or female.
And face it, if smegma is what puts you off a foreskin, you'll probably have dumped their ass long before you saw it due to other hygiene issues such as regualr bathing, breath, foot odor due to non-washing, long nails, dandruff, etc.
Women can be just as nasty. Anything that encloses body parts in a covered, humid location is a recipe for bacteria and the resultant pong.

It's my understanding that Christian America finds it 'required' amongst males due to the Early American churches teaching that they were the obvious inheritors of God's covenant with Abraham and thus outwardly kept the symbols given to him.

One can't ignore the obvious parallels of the many religious groups fleeing Catholic Europe to the promise of a new land with the ancient Isrealites being led from Egypt. There's only two countries where the majority of the population has been circumcized: the USA and Israel.

Back in the 1980's the ratio was like 80:20 / cut:uncut. nowadays, as more people become more educated about the issue, its more like 60:40 / cut:uncut.

My mom used to be a nurse, and she pretty much described the procedure to me once, its not nice. That was one of the main reasons she didn't have me cut. She also pretty much confirmed that these days its an operation just done for money more than anything else. This excludes religious circumcisions.

for those interested in religious history, I believe there's actually a portion of the New Testament that addresses circumcision. Basically one of the apostles said to the masses that it was okay to go uncut, and that it wasn't necessary to take part in the faith.

Personally, I get along with either as long as they are clean. I think leaving a baby uncut is the best option, he can always opt to have it cut later on, much easier than reversing the process surely.

Being from Norway, i was a bit suprised when reading this. Here there is probably a 97:3 uncut:cut ratio, and i didn't think it was very differente in the US.

My ex was uncut. It really didn't make a difference to me one way or another.
