Haunting dreams

For a while now, actually several nights in a row, I have dreamed about being a woman. I know it may sound ridiculous but it is freaking me out.
I'm as attached to my bald soldier as any average guy but for some reason my dreams make me live through whole nights making me think that he's gone or has never been there in the first place.

On several occations I have woken up because of the dreams got to freaky, mostly when some guy is about to stick their weener in me. On other occations I have a wonderfull time engaging in erotic play with other females.

Sure, I've wonderd what it would be like to be female and even tried to imagine what it would be like, but I've never wanted to switch, I enjoy being male and all the things that goes with it.

Why is this so scay you ask?
The reason it is so scary is because it keeps comming up as a general theme of my dreams and I can't understand why. The fact that in at about half of the dreams a male is about to have sex with me makes me wake up with a punding heart, all coverd in sweat and a state of mind that is very close to pure panic. I don't concider myself homophobic it is just that for me having sex with another man feels wrong and untrue to the alignment my sexual preference leans twoard.

My SO isn't much help, she just laughs at me and says it's only dreams but it still worries me because they keep occuring..

Anyone have any thoughts on this? Is ther anyithing I can do to stop these dreams?

Don't worry about it. I once had a disturbing dream about helping my brother murder someone. I had no idea where that came from - I didn't have any pent up impulses as far as I could see. It probably had more to do with the spicy fried prawns with jalapenos I ate before going to bed and the movie I watched that night than anything else.
Your SO has the right attitude so laugh along with her. Get plenty of rest. Don't sleep within an hour of supper. Minimize your caffeine, alcohol and sweets - especially in the evening. Chew some valerian root. And don't sweat it - your anxiety about the issue probably keeps it coming.

...the absolute worst thing that might happen is that you might discover you actually like to fantasize about being a woman or cross-dressing or whatever. That wouldn't be the end of the world. Fetishes are normal. I'm wary of anyone who claims they have absolutely no fetishes whatsoever.

I have had these reoccurring nightmares for the past ten years that I have either been a serial killer with my mother, (she makes my sister and I help her) or I have killed my mother. The entire dream I'm freaking out, trying to dispose of all of her body parts. In one of the dreams I was trying desperately to stuff her decapitated head down a toilet. They always weird me out for the entire day, and sometimes I ponder all day long, "Did I kill someone?"

I have wondered for the longest time what the hell these bazaar dreams mean.

Your dreams sound like a picnic compared to the one I had last night....I forced myself on a woman. I still feel a bit ill about it now (6 hours later), but I keep reminding myself that it was just a fucked up dream.

Dude, try throwing body parts in dumpsters and creeks all night long. I woke up thinking I was going to prison forever.

Been there, done that.

I guess I should have put;

"Cervantes, your dreams sound like a picnic...."

Yeah, I have head the killing lots of people dreams.
Often ends when the stand off with the cops goes sour.
Some times I'll end up flying, those are the "I am the unstopable plague of the world" dreams. I rarely have a dream that isn't strange in some way.

I think dreams allow us to go through senarios which would endanger us in reality. I too have had bizzare dreams (though nothing like the ones listed above) but always try to remind myself that since this happened in a dream I was able to combat the feelings that would come up for me in reality. Hope you go back to forgetting your dreams. :)

i've had both the serial killer and cross-dressing women dreams before, once i've dreamed i was taken prisoner and given a sex change and forced to swim in a bikini... very freaky

Wow, I find this really fascinating. I've never had any dreams nearly that "weird", without trying to sound pejorative.

I have no idea what it means.

LoL. Cervantes, if it helps, sometimes I have dreams about being a man and having sex with a woman. It is really strange, but I dont' let it get to me too much. Its some weird thing your mind has pieced together from whatever is going on at the time. Actually, the dreams can be quite interesting...its the closest a person can come to seeing what its like for the other person.

And if it is a recurring dream, sometimes the only way to get them to stop is to let the dream end. You never know what your subconscious is trying to tell you.

Dreams are funny. Only occassionaly are they a direct tie to our fantasies - think about it, if my dreams played out my fantasies I would be nailing Salma Hayek on a nightly basis and would never stay up to see Letterman. Instead, the few dreams I remember tend to have me fighting my way out of the middle of a crowd of people who all want to hurt me or people I care about. Not near as much fun.

The books would tell me I feel helpless in situation at work or relationships. They may tell you that you feel disconnected from women/femininity. It's dicey work to figure out. I have found that when I write them down they tend to at least change. Don't sweat it too much - unless the guy coming at you is Ron Jeremy. All bets off then. :)
