6 Month anniversery gift...

Do anniversery gifts have to be romantic/relationship oriented or can they be stuff that ur SO will just like. Im wondering because its a gift for your SO does it have to be something that someone else wouldnt give her?? What kind of stuff did you give/receive on 6 month aniverserys ?

I've always given a practical gift and a sentimental one on anniversaries. My last was fairly standard, I got her a perfume gift set just after midnight on the day, some phone credit just after breakfast, and some flowers delivered after lunch. First is both practical and sentimental, the second is practical, and the third is sentimental.

I wouldn't go too hard on the gifts... especially not for a 6-months anniversary.

The one-year mark is something that's very special and deserves some serious attention. Also, I think each yearly anniversary should be set aside to do something special with one's significant other.

But if you get too much into the habit of giving gifts for every single occasion then your significant other will come to expect those gifts from you and will be very ungrateful when you can't keep up with the act of showering them with gifts all the time.

Bingo. If you get him something, just keep it something small and personal, like an inside joke that only you guys would understand. I learned the hard way that you don't want to get caught up in the expensive gift fad, even 2 years into a relationship.

BTW, don't ever buy someone a plane ticket to come visit you at school well in advance. I was out $300 on that one.

You guys are right about not going all out on a 6-month anniversary. The gifts I gave her above were for a combination of her birthday & our one-year anniversary, which happened to fal within a week or two of each other.

Go for a nice dinner, get her a boquet of flowers, and maybe a teddy bear. Just don't do the teddy bear thing to death like some guys do. Do something nicer than normal, but it doesn't have to be over the top.

I remember back in Junior High and High School when weekly anniversaries meant something.

"It has been the best 2 weeks of my life here is a teddy bear to show how much you mean to me."

1 week later
"Yeah we broke up. Her parents saw us holding hands in public and told her they did not want her in a serious relationship."

LOL AHHH how i miss the those days. Ok not really.

I believe for our six month aniversary he brought me a rose and chocolate and we rented a movie, drank wine, and ate chocolate on the living room floor all night.

I'm happy enough when a guy actually REMEMBERS an anniversary, you're ahead of the game! The thought's most important, and something small but fun and unexpected is the usually the best way to go. If she's got a favorite kind of Girl Scout cookies, that might be a jackpot!

My first thought was, who says you have to buy something for something for a six month anniversary? But...
